About Mpala Jena
Ideally positioned on the banks of the Zambezi River, Mpala Jena is the perfect base to explore this beautiful landscape set against the striking Victoria Falls. Translated as ‘white impala’, Mpala Jena takes its name from an elusive animal occasionally spotted in the area since the 1970s. Much like the impala, Mpala Jena hides among the trees and bushes which provide seclusion and shade from the hot sun.
This intimate camp – a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux fellowship – features four tented suites, ideal for couples and smaller groups. There is also one two-bedroom villa which is perfect for families. Accommodation is spacious and luxuriously decorated throughout. Suites consist of a living room, en-suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, and double vanity sinks. Lush, comfortable furnishings blend perfectly with rustic décor made from natural materials. Accommodation features canopied beds, an outdoor decking area, a plunge pool, and open views of the river through bug-proof netting.
Located 16 kilometres from Zambezi National Park, this camp is ideal for spotting abundant wildlife during land safaris and river cruises. It’s also within easy reach of the iconic Victoria Falls; admire this natural wonder during an unforgettable guided excursion. Then return to Mpala Jena for an evening of dinner and drinks, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the river.
