About Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel
Kanazawa Tokyu is a contemporary outpost from where to explore the city’s must-see landmarks. The prize-winning Kenrokuen Gardens as well as the samurai district are both a ten-minute walk away. The hotel concierge can point you to the 21st-century Museum of Contemporary Art, a circular glass building designed by Japanese architects, SANAA, which is also close by.
Inside, rooms enjoy traditional clean wood lines, patterned rugs and charming touches such as the Japanese tea set with green and black tea.
The main restaurant Marais D’Or dishes up French classics such as fish meuniere as well as tender sirloin steaks. You can sample traditional Japanese breakfasts at Kincharyo – grilled salmon, miso soup and nori.
Other than an extensive cocktail menu, the uplighted bar (one of the highlights) offers a range of whiskeys including some fine local single malts. Pull up a chair and look out to a tree-filled courtyard or relax in the lounge in a more casual setting.
