UK - Hanoi

Maximise your time in Vietnam by flying overnight from London to Hanoi.

We meet you from the flight and take you straight to your hotel. Once you’ve settled in, explore Hanoi’s wide, tree-lined avenues and walk along the shores of its shimmering lakes. Make sure to sample the sizzling dishes on offer at the many noodle stands. The city’s streets buzz with the sound of mopeds, though you can escape the noise in one of its 600 temples.

Today, you’ll take a sightseeing tour around the city. Visit Ho Chi Minh's stilted house, surrounded by picturesque banyans and frangipani, and see the One Pillar Pagoda and the Confucian temple of Quoc Tu Giam. Enjoy a traditional lunch before visiting the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Art to marvel at folk art, sculptures, engravings and lacquer ware by contemporary artists.

Hanoi - Halong Bay

Halong Bay is the tranquil antidote to the frenetic energy of Hanoi. Head to this UNESCO-listed inlet for an overnight cruise on its emerald waters. Explore its echoing caves, hidden bays and limestone outcrops. At the end of the day, tuck into a fresh seafood dinner and watch the sunset over the bay.

Halong - Hoi An

Continue sailing through Halong Bay's most beautiful spots. Explore a nearby cave before cruising back to the port. After you disembark, head to the airport for the short flight to Danang, gateway to the long, sandy beaches and cultural highlights of central Vietnam.

Hoi An

Hoi An is one of the best preserved towns in Vietnam. Its jumble of tea shops, Japanese merchant houses and Chinese temples feels like a step back in time. Equally fascinating are its colourful markets which are alive with traders touting their wares. Finish your day in Hoi An with a boat trip on Thu Bon River which connects the town with Cua Dai Beach.

Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

Take the short flight from Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City. On a guided tour you’ll visit the Reunification Hall and the History Museum to explore its collection of Vietnamese cultural artefacts. You can also visit the excellent War Remnants Museum. Stop at the Notre Dame Cathedral in the heart of the city before finishing at the Central Post Office, designed and constructed by Gustav Eiffel.

Ho Chi Minh City

Further explore Vietnam's war history with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. This vast subterranean network once stretched for nearly 340 kilometres. Originally constructed by the Viet Minh in the 1940s, it was used to great effect by the Viet Cong. Whole communities lived in these unbelievably narrow underground rooms and passages. They formed an integral part of the fighters’ defences.

Ho Chi Minh City - UK

After an unforgettable trip, head to the airport for your flight back home. Alternatively, continue your adventure with one of our extension trips to the Mekong Delta or Ky Son.
