About Hacienda AltaGracia
As you'll see from the photographs, Hacienda AltaGracia is a spectacular secluded hideaway in the Pérez Zeledón mountain range. It may look difficult to get to but the hacienda is actually a mere 25 minute private flight away from San José airport, or if you'd prefer, you can always take the longer more scenic drive through the mountain pass.
Surrounded by more than 350 hectares of pristine unspoiled countryside, the 50 standalone casitas evoke the style of an individual home with bespoke interiors, plush down bedding and large sinking bath tubs. The private terraces have unsurpassed views of the Brunqueña and Talamanca Mountains.
With menus carefully curated by an award-winning Master Chef dining at AltaGracia is always something we look forward to. Firstly there's restaurant, Ambar, where you can enjoy fine dining on Italian fusion dishes such as semolina dusted fried calamari, or perhaps La Boudeguita del centro, the underground tapas bar is more up your street. El Bistro offers casual café style treats while La Cantina is the perfect place to unwind with negronis and billiard games.
AltaGracia may be home to over 20 stables but equestrian lovers aren't the only ones having a good time here; the hacienda can arrange ultra-light flights, mountain biking, quad tours, bird watching and cooking classes, to name a few. Nearby you will find Chirripo National Park - home to the highest mountain in Costa Rica, Cerro Chirripo - whale watching, canopy tours and river rafting.
