Arrive London, UK

Arrive in London and meet with fellow travellers and award-winning expedition team. This afternoon transfer to Dover to join your luxurious small ship. Join fellow guests for an onboard welcome reception this evening.

Honfleur, Normandy

Arrive at the port of Honfleur and take a stroll admiring typical Normandy architecture including St Catherine’s Church and bell tower and the Old Port. Travel to Omaha Beach, a poignant D-Day Landing site; you also visit the US Military Cemetery and Interpretation Centre at Colleville-sur-Mer. Or join a culinary experience, visiting the picturesque countryside and workshops, sampling Normandy specialties, including cheeses, hard cider, and Calvados.

Saint-Malo

Arrive at the port of Saint-Malo the gateway to the iconic Le Mont Saint-Michel. Make your way up the 350 steps to the abbey which lies at the top of this tidal island. Head to Dinan and see the 14th-century castle and take part in an oyster farm experience. Alternatively, visit Rennes to explore its turbulent history via its authentic Old Town and Parliament buildings. Enjoy a traditional Breton lunch of crêpes.

Unwind and enjoy a day at sea, perhaps with time at the pool or spa or on your private balcony. Relish a day of relaxation, enjoying the amenities of your ship and more engaging presentations by our experts.

Bordeaux, France

Arrive in Bordeaux, a best-kept secret seldom visited by cruise ships. Today, you can choose from curated excursions. Discover the historic city on foot with an expert guide, visiting the Old Town and 13th-century Cathedral of St André, exploring along the Garonne River, and visit the Bassins de Lumières. Alternatively, set out for an exclusive Bordeaux wine estate tour, with privileged access to areas usually closed to the public. Lovers of the sea may choose a visit to the seaside resort town of Arcachon, known for its golden beaches. You can also choose a nature walk in the maritime pine forest, Landes. Rejoin your ship for cocktails and dinner.

Bilbao

Join your expedition team ashore for a choice of excursions. Enjoy artworks in iconic Guggenheim Museum. Alternately, take a walking tour of Palacio de la Magdalena and Catedral de Santander. Choose a hike to El Castillo Cave, which houses the most ancient Palaeolithic art in the world, or a drive through Santoña, Victoria and Joyel Marshes Natural Park before visiting the fishing port of Santoña and the old village of historic Laredo.

Santiago de Compostela

Today, explore Santiago de Compostela, the terminus of the Camino de Santiago, a network of pilgrimage routes dating to the ninth century. View the cathedral and Old Town, followed by lunch with a Galician folklore dance performance. Choose a shorter walk to Cape Finisterre followed by a visit to the medieval castle of Vimianzo. For another option, explore Santiago’s food market and restaurants, tasting local tapas, empanadas, cheeses and wines.

Porto

Join your expedition team for a lecture. Afterwards, you can explore Cais da Ribeira and view the Stock Exchange Palace and St Francis Church. Foodies can opt to sample artisan cheese and port wine. Head to the Douro Valley for lunch at Quinta da Pacheca, one of the region’s best wine estates or head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Braga or visit Guimarães and its medieval castle, followed a cable car ride to Penha.

Lisbon

Today, enjoy a selection of excursions such as a gourmet city tour, featuring the Tower of Belem, a visit to Jeronimos Monastery. Alternatively drive to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to glittering palaces. Set out on an excursion to Evora, capital of Portugal’s south-central region, for a visit to its old city, which is another UNESCO site. Alternately, learn more about Lisbon’s art of tile making during a hands on visit to a workshop.

Depart Lisbon

Disembark and continue on your post-tour extension or transfer to the airport for your return flight.
