Classic Summer Iceland

Enjoy summer in Iceland as you discover this country of waterfalls and wildlife. You’ll begin your journey in Reykjavik, where a private guide will be at your full disposal. Enjoy an adrenalin-fuelled super-jeep tour to explore parts of Thorsmork that are otherwise inaccessible. Explore the geysers, waterfalls and craters of Thingvellir National Park in the Golden Circle. You’ll also see the enormous puffin colonies of the volcanic Westeman Islands and enjoy VIP access to the warm, therapeutic waters of The Blue Lagoon.

UK - Reykjavik

Arrive at Keflavik airport which is small, colourful, friendly and straightforward: much like the country itself. The Lego-like installations dotted around like building blocks give it the feel of a giant playground. Your driver, who will be looking after you over the next two days, will be waiting to welcome you in the arrivals hall. He’ll then take you straight to your hotel.

Reykjavik is small for a capital city, but it punches above its weight in terms of friendliness and charm. Your guide will help you get a feel for its character as you explore its museums and landmarks, including the Harpa concert hall. Visit the 19th-century House of Parliament building, Reykjavik Cathedral and Hallgrimskirkja church tower with its panoramic views.

Golden Circle

Spend the day exploring the Golden Circle, the region that showcases the best of the country's natural beauty. Take in the powerful geysers, magnificent waterfalls and volcanic craters of Thingvellir National Park. You can marvel at The Great Geyser, Iceland’s most famous, and Stokkur, its most energetic. See the powerful Gullfoss waterfall and the inky blue waters that fill the crater of Kerid volcano in Grimsnes.

Today is all about adrenalin-fuelled adventure. You’ll take a super-jeep safari in the Thorsmork Valley and explore the Gigjokull glacial outlet. Take a short hike into the canyon of Stakkholtsgja and you’ll be rewarded with the sight of a beautiful waterfall. A walk to Basar affords more spectacular views and over 170 species of plants, moss and lichen. End the day exploring the Seljalandsfoss and Gljufrabui waterfalls.

Enjoy a second day exploring Iceland’s challenging terrain by super-jeep. You’ll pass the Hekla volcano whose crater, according to legend, is the entrance to hell. You’ll make your way across lava fields, black ash and scoria deserts to reach Landmannalaugar, an area of great contrasts. Take in its other-worldly landscapes which feature black ridges and mountains of green, red, yellow and orange.

Westmann Islands

Today, you’ll explore the volcanoes of the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar), home to a number of large puffin colonies. The islands have experienced significant eruptions in relatively recent times and you’ll hear all about the one in 1963 which formed the new island of Surtsey. Further activity forced the island to be evacuated a decade later and hundreds of homes are buried underneath the lava.

South Shore

Iceland's volcanic south shore has more magnificent waterfalls and black sand beaches. It’s your playground for today! Seljarlandsfoss waterfall flows with the meltwater of the famous Eyjafjallajokull glacier, dropping a dramatic 60 feet over the cliffs. A footpath behind the waterfall affords a truly unique perspective. Be prepared to get a little wet! You’ll also see the basalt sea stack at Reynisdrangar and Skogarfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most beautiful.

Blue Lagoon - UK

It's time to say goodbye to Iceland. Your driver will pick you up to take you to the airport for your flight home, but not before you've had a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon. Its waters are rich in minerals known to have healing powers and you’ll have VIP access. So, immerse yourself and enjoy a natural mud spa treatment before you head off, feeling fantastic.
