Ultimate Iceland Adventure

Time to experience the highs and lows of the rhyolite mountains of Kerlingafjoll on this adrenaline-filled itinerary. Buckle-up for a Super Jeep journey like no other. Discover a hidden footpath behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall and dip in to the hot pools that reside between the Langjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers. This exceptional private touring experience is further enhanced by a stay at Torfhús Retreat. Built in the traditional Icelandic torfhouse style, but with all the comforts to keep you warm and rested, Torfhús Retreat offers a Viking-inspired setting from which to look out for the Northern Lights.

Get off the beaten track and well away from the crowds. There is nothing quite like the untamed, wild beauty of Iceland.

Arrive Reykjanes Peninsula

Your journey begins the moment you arrive at the small Leifur Eiriksson Keflavik airport. Greet your driver and kick off your Iceland adventure with a sightseeing tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula. There are many hot springs and sulphur springs to see – interestingly, the Seltún Geothermal Area has soil of green, yellow and red colours due to the sulphuric water and gases. Also, pay close attention to the history of the Kleifarvatn Lake.

Golden Circle

One of the main attractions of Iceland is the Golden Circle, known for powerful geysers and the mighty Gullfoss waterfall, which plummets 32 metres in two stages down into a roaring canyon. The water comes from one of the largest glaciers in Iceland, Langjökull.  Discover this area along with many other landmarks including Thingvellir National Park and Fridheimar.

Mt. Kerlingafjoll

Time to put your woolly adventure hat on as you embark on an incredible Super Jeep Tour of Mt. Kerlingafjoll – famous for its glacier-topped rhyolite mountains and breath-taking views across the Icelandic landscape. Continue your drive to Hveravellir Geothermal Area and enjoy a dip in a hot pool between the two glaciers of Langjökull and Hofsjökull – the perfect place to relax after the rigours of hiking and driving.

South Shore

The last few days have shown you sublime landscapes, but now it’s time for the South Shore of Iceland, famous for its mythical beauty and black, sandy beaches. Seljalandsfoss waterfall flows from the volcano Eyjafjallajokull, and if you’re not afraid of getting a little bit wet, you can walk behind the wall of water on a hidden footpath. Spot the basalt sea stacks in the ocean as well, where legend has it two trolls were pulling a ship to shore before daylight broke and they were turned to stone.

Depart Reykjavík

Before you go home, enjoy some sightseeing in the capital city, Reykjavik. Though small on an international scale, it compensates with a large, friendly atmosphere. Discover famous buildings such as the House of Parliament, the concert hall Harpa, and the Hallgrimskirkja church towers which loom above the city and offer panoramic views over Reykjavik. Leave with great memories of the untamed, wild beauty of Iceland.
