Highlights of Russia

Discover the historic sights of Moscow and St Petersburg with your private guides. On our tailor made Russia tours, you’ll be taken to the secretive Kremlin and State Armoury, a trove of magnificent imperial treasures. Visit Moscow's splendid cathedrals: the colourful onion-domed St Basil's and the golden-topped Christ the Saviour. Enjoy a private tour of the three million works of art housed in St Petersburg’s Hermitage Museum.

Vital, vigorous, glamorous, Moscow epitomises modern Russia where a cosmopolitan vibe is underpinned by historic landmarks. No matter what time of day or night you arrive, Moscow will be buzzing: this is a 24-hour city, with endless energy. You'll be staying at the centrally located Ararat Park Hyatt, with the Bolshoi Theatre and Red Square just moments away, so you can plunge straight in.

Red Square is the obvious place to start. It's where you'll find Lenin's tomb, St Basil's Cathedral and the GUM department store. But there's far more to the city, including the gold-topped Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, serene Novodevichy convent and the Kremlin. This fortress inside a city, synonymous with the Cold War, houses the State Armoury, with its opulent royal paraphernalia and a collection of Faberge eggs.

Moscow - St Petersburg

This morning you’re free to explore Moscow on your own. If you have an interest in Russian art, we suggest a visit to the Tretyakov State Gallery and its unique collection. In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the rail station for your Sapsan train to St Petersburg. Upon arrival you’ll be taken to the Belmond Grand Hotel Europe, your comfortable home of the next three nights.

St Petersburg

St Petersburg is the place to overdose on the arts and culture but take the pulse of modern Russia too. Start in the historic Baroque centre, which rivals Venice for canals. Your private guide will show you the main sights, from Nevsky Prospekt and Palace Square to Vasilevsky Island. You’ll also visit Peter and Paul Fortress, resting place of St Petersburg’s founder, Peter the Great.

St Petersburg

Save the best until last and head to the Hermitage for the morning. Its six magnificent buildings, including the peerless Winter Palace, house three million pieces of art. Fortunately, you'll have a private guide to help you take it all in. You have the afternoon free to enjoy St Petersburg under your own steam.

St Petersburg - UK

Say goodbye to resplendent Russia, with a final glance at those shimmering domes and waterways as you depart. We’ll take you to the airport for your flight home.
