UK - Delhi

With an overnight flight from the UK to Delhi, you’ll be ready and raring to go when we meet you to start your northern India itinerary in its bustling capital city.

Delhi

Delhi is a manic, magnificent maelstrom of a city, full of colour, noise and spectacle. Ease yourself in at The Leela Palace, hidden amid the leafy avenues of Delhi's diplomatic enclave. Your guide will show you this exclusive area, home to the grand Lutyens-designed Parliament and the Arc de Triomphe-style India Gate. Set amid glistening pools and bird-filled gardens, you’ll also visit the 16th-century tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun.

Delhi

Swap New Delhi for Old, with a visit to the thumping heart of this mighty metropolis. Delve into the colourful bazaars of Chandni Chowk and ascend the towering minarets of India’s largest mosque, the Jama Masjid. After a spot of delicately spiced, traditional cuisine for lunch, stop off at the icon that is the regal Red Fort, an architectural feat in solid sandstone.

Delhi - Agra - Delhi

Jump aboard India's fastest train for a day trip to Agra. Travelling at 160km/h, the Gatimann Express offers air-conditioned comfort and the quickest route to get to where you want to be: the Taj Mahal at Agra. You’ll enjoy a private tour of this magnificent testament to the power of love and the skill of Mughal architecture. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz, this mausoleum is the world's preeminent expression of passionate but restrained mourning.

Delhi - Jaipur

Bid farewell to India's resplendent capital, before making your way to Jaipur. Your home for two nights will be The Oberoi Rajvilas. This Mughal-style citadel is set amid acres of lush gardens and we suggest settling in with a cocktail as the sunset adds depth and lustre to India’s famous Pink City.

Jaipur

With a day of exploration ahead, browse Jaipur’s flower-filled bazaars and visit the Jantar Mantar Observatory. This ancient stargazing hub is packed with enormous astronomical instruments dating back to the 16th-century. Drop into the ornate Palace of the Winds and City Palace. You could also hop in a jeep and drive to the extravagantly decorated halls and chambers of the hilltop Amber Fort.

Jaipur - Udaipur

If the Taj is India’s most romantic building then Udaipur is its most romantic city. Tumbling, whitewashed mansions sit among deep blue lakes and the undulating Aravalli Hills. With its atmosphere of a bygone era, you’ll feel like a Maharaja staying at Leela Palace. Each opulent room offers a unique vantage point of Lake Pichola. However, the best views are undoubtedly on the water itself. Enjoy a sunset lake cruise with a sundowner.

Udaipur

Spend a day immersed in Udaipur's distinctive architecture, arts and crafts. Udaipur’s City Palace should be your first stop. Its flamboyant fusion of Rajasthani and Mughal styles is rich with gleaming walls, marble balconies and the spectacular Peacock Courtyard. Contrast the palace’s ornate splendour with a wander through Udaipur's charming tumbledown alleyways, discovering quirky craftsmanship around every corner.

Udaipur - Delhi - UK

With several fantastic Indian cities ticked off your travel map, it’s sadly time to say goodbye. After a farewell breakfast, head back to Delhi. From here you’ll connect with your flight back to the UK with countless new memories and a plethora of pictures will forever remind you of this wonderful visit to northern India.
