UK, Calgary, Banff

On arrival in Calgary you'll collect your hire car from the airport and head straight to the stylish Kensington Riverside Inn. Just steps from the Peace Bridge, it's the ideal base for exploring the city. Leaving the Stampede City the next morning you have two routes to choose from, each one offering stunning views of the dramatic scenery en route to Banff. You'll have a free day to explore Banff, and we'd recommend a ride on the Banff Gondola offering panoramic views of the Bow Valley.

Moraine Lake, Jasper, Kamloops

Set off along the Bow Valley Parkway, where you'll have the option to stop at Johnston Canyon and witness its beautiful waterfalls. You'll head along the spine of the Canadian Rockies, traversing the amazing Icefields Parkway, which features more than 100 ancient glaciers. At the Columbia Icefield, hop aboard an Ice Explorer to take a ride on the Athabasca Glacier. After this, it's all aboard the Rocky Mountaineer for a scenic rail journey to Kamloops in the interior of British Columbia.

Fraser Canyon, Vancouver

Boarding the train again you’ll leave Kamloops and follow the Thompson River through Ashcroft. The last leg of the journey takes you through the Fraser Valley to arrive in Vancouver in the late afternoon. Check in at the chic Rosewood Georgia for the next few days. Enjoy the best of Vancouver on a personalised tour, see the highlights of downtown plus the unique neighbourhoods of Chinatown, historic Gastown and fashionable Yaletown before boarding the Seven Seas Mariner for your 11-night cruise.

Vancouver, Ketchikan

After a day cruising the inside passage you'll arrive in Ketchikan, once known as the salmon capital of the world. An outstanding collection of totem poles make a visit to Ketchikan essential for anyone interested in Native art. On to Wrangell, one of Alaska’s oldest settlements. You'll explore nearby Stikine River, home to hundreds of species of migrating birds, spectacular glacial valleys or watch the bears at Anan Falls rainforest.

Juneau, Sitka

Juneau’s surrounding beauty and natural wonders have attracted cruise ship travellers for over a century. You'll cruise past the Hubbard Glacier to Sitka. Founded by Russian fur traders as New Archangel in 1799, Sitka was the historic centre of Russia’s Alaskan empire. The port of Prince Rupert is the largest community on British Columbia's north coast. Deep-green fjords and coastal rain forest surround this quaint fishing town, located on Kaien Island at the mouth of the Skeena River.

Victoria

Victoria is a picture-perfect city exuding old-world charm. Founded in 1843 by James Douglas of the Hudson’s Bay Company, it was first known as Fort Victoria. In 1868, Vancouver Island was incorporated with mainland British Columbia. The harbours, especially Inner Harbour, are dotted with pleasure crafts, ferries, and floatplanes. Disembark in Vancouver and take your return flight to the UK.
