Highlights

Discover East Coast USA

See the best of the coast with the most. Our suggested 11-night itinerary visits Brooklyn, New Orleans and Key West. Take a slice out of the Big Apple with three nights in Brooklyn. Enjoy eating your way around Williamsburg on a foodie foot tour. NOLA may have been pummelled by nature in recent times, but The Big Easy has bounced back and is better than ever. Spend two cocktail-fuelled nights there. Learn to mix a mean Sazerac with one of the city’s best mixologists. East means Eden. Drive one of America’s greatest routes from Miami to the paradise island city of Key West. Sail into the sunset on a catamaran cruise.

UK – New York City

A daytime flight will get you to NYC by lunchtime. A member of the A&K team will meet you and take you to your digs in Williamsburg. This fashionable neighbourhood is New Yorkers’ New York. If you ever wondered where those in the know are hanging out, just look around the rooftop pool of your hotel – the McCarren. The saltwater swimming pool is a NYC hotspot, with a full bar and snack service offering cocktails full of the produce of local craft distillers. Check in and check it out.

New York City

For the next two days, it’s all about the borough of Brooklyn. On the morning of day two, meet with a local guide to discuss getting the most out of your stay over coffee. This is your opportunity to get some top tips and handy hints from a NYC native. Wander through Williamsburg on a Brooklyn Foodie Adventure. Take a walk through the neighbourhood’s history through its food. En route you’ll admire some amazing street art. Try pierogis and pastries at a Polish bakery. Go ballistic for bagel bombs at a milk bar. Sample some barbecue and pizza at a New York Times-recommended pizzeria.

New York City – New Orleans

Say bye to the Big Apple. It’s off to New Orleans. Make your way to Q&C – your base for the next three nights. It’s at the heart of the city, tucked between the French Quarter and the Warehouse/Arts District. The perfect place from which to explore buzzing NOLA.

New Orleans

Spend the next couple of days getting to know Louisiana’s most famous city. It’s renowned for its cuisine, culture and food. Hop on a bike for a Creole and Crescent Guided Bike Tour to see the birthplace of jazz and where the infamous red-light district of Storyville once stood. One evening, mix it up with a Master Cocktail Class. Mixologists will teach you not only how to shake (or stir) a mean drink but also the history and traditions of cocktails in a town that partied its way through Prohibition. We love this hands-on experience.

New Orleans – Key West

Today fly from New Orleans to Miami. Pick up your hire car and cruise to your hotel in Key West. The 240-kilmetre drive along the Ocean Highway is one of the great American road trips. Leave the mainland way behind you and journey to the fabled Florida Keys archipelago.

Key West

Kick back in Key West – famous for its adopted sons, Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams. Nowhere does glamorous offbeat like Key West. Things to see and do include visits to Hemingway’s House, Mallory Square and Harry S Truman’ Little White House. One evening, set sail on a sunset catamaran cruise to see these tropical waters and the islands from another angle. It’s the perfect way to end your East Coast US holiday.

Key West – UK

Drive back to Miami airport to return your hire car and board your flight home.

Arrive back in the UK in this morning.
