A private butler will service your suite during your 14 night cruise in Chile aboard the Silver Explorer. The best of the Peruvian and Chilean coasts will greet you at ports of call and private tours will allow you to discover more. UK - Santiago

Take a day to wander the wide boulevards and get lost in some of the best museums and galleries and learn the history of one of the continents most attractive and interesting cities, from one of our fabulous local guides. Spending a morning with them you will uncover some of the true gems, and local cafés, of this arty and cosmopolitan hub including the delightful Barrio Concha y Toro neighbourhood, with its charming plaza and pretty Colonial architecture.

Atacama Desert and Chilean winelands

The cool Pacific winds beckon you out of the city to the Colchagua Wine Valley. Flanked to the east by the Andes, and to the west by the Pacific Ocean its cool Pacific breezes create a terroir perfectly suited to producing the full-bodied wines for which the area is famous. Feast on fresh produce and kick back with a heady red over a luxuriously leisurely lunch in a local vineyard restaurant. Get ready to embrace desert life as you fly away from the verdant valley to the moon-like Atacama Desert. The surreal lunar landscape holds a treasure trove of unexpected treats in the shape of punchy pink flamingos, steaming geysers, snow capped volcanoes and some truly extraordinary vegetation.

Santiago, Guayaquil

Return to Santiago for one last night before boarding the Silver Explorer at Guayaquil for your 14 night culinary expedition cruise. With ample opportunities to spot birds and wildlife, absorb fascinating history and areas of unrivalled beauty like Moon Valley. Enjoy a Nazca Lines flight over the geoglyphs, explore Chilean vineyards and indulge in delicious food and wine parings.

Trujillo, Isla Guanape, Lima

Located about 9 hours north of Lima, Trujillo is an attractive colonial city retaining much of its original charm with elegant mansion lined streets. Nearby Chan Chan, ancient capital of Incan tribe the Chimu, makes for a fascinating day trip. Continue to Isla Guanape, a biological reserve for sea birds including Peruvian Pelicans, Inca Terns and Blue-footed Boobies and home to large colonies of sea lions. Your expedition continues to Peru’s capital, Lima, a vibrant city with an oceanfront setting, colonial-era splendour, sophisticated dining and non-stop nightlife.

During a day at sea enjoy wine tasting, language and dance classes, take in a matinee movie or simply take in the sun pool side. Arriving in Matarani, you can explore the colonial city of Arequipa to discover its interesting history which spanned over 10,000 years. Your expedition continues to Chile and the city of Arica, claiming to be “the land of the eternal Spring” where you can relax on the pier watching the pelicans and sea lions trail the fishing boats. After a day at sea, travel on to Antofagasta, Chile’s largest city of the Northern region situated between the ocean and the mountains of the Coastal Range.

Isla Pan de Azucar, Isla Chanaral, Coquimbo, Valparaiso

The rugged shores of Isla Pan de Azucar are home to thousands of Humboldt penguins and at Isla Chanaral sea lions rest off the rocky cliff ledges. Spot rare South American marine otters and playful bottlenose dolphins.
