Top Tip
Once or twice a week Laucala has a traditional lovo night where you can sample the local Kava drink, eat meats and fish cooked in the lovo and enjoy entertainment provided by a group of villagers from nearby islands.

Why we like it

  • Exclusive private island retreat in the South Pacific
  • Just 25 Fijian style villas in very different locations around the island's northern coast
  • Each villa benefits from its own golf buggy
  • Fine dining is the theme at Plantation House, and almost all the meals on the menu (mainly degustation) come from the island farm
  • Extensive range of water sports and activities

About Laucala

Whether you seek relaxation or adventure, the private island refuge of Laucala in the South Pacific offers both in spades. More private club than resort, this tropical hideaway offers exceptional service and is one of the most indulgent around. Just 25 Fijian-styled villas are set amid a backdrop of verdant mountains, coconut plantations and white sandy beaches. Situated in different locations around the resort, you can choose to stay in either a Seagrass, Plantation, Plateau or Hilltop Residence;with no more spectacular than the next, they can only be distinguished by personal preference.

Head Chef Anthony Healy runs a tight kitchen with no less than five restaurants and bars featuring Asian, Fijian and Mediterranean style fare. As an almost completely self-sustainable island, many of the ingredients used are home grown. Enjoy fine dining at Plantation House, freshly caught seafood at the Beach Bar or Thai delicacies at Seagrass Restaurant. Dining by design allows you to customise your menu and dine in unique locations around the resort.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy here, including a wide variety of water sports, rainforest walks, diving, snorkelling, sailing, golf, farm visits, horse riding and cultural visits to the local village plus traditional Fijian therapies at the world class spa. The resort also has its own deep flight submarine available for one hour underwater trips.
