Argentina is famed not only for its diverse and dramatic landscapes but also for the quality of its food and wine. Discover some of the most famous wine regions in the country and experience the best gourmet dining, including of course their quality beef.
Day 1 - London/Buenos Aires
Fly overnight to Buenos Aires.
Day 2 - Buenos Aires
In the morning, arrive at your hotel in the heart of Buenos Aires.In the afternoon your private guide will introduce you to the 'Paris of Latin America' including: Palermo Chico and Soho,the Teatro Colon Opera House, and the Recoleta cemetery, burial place of some of the most influential Argentinians.
Day 3 - Buenos Aires
A full day to explore this fascinating city; you could enjoy a private wine-tasting at an exclusive wine cellar or we can arrange a day trip to a nearby estancia to enjoy a traditional asado or barbeque lunch.
Day 4 - Buenos Aires/Mendoza
Fly to Mendoza, gateway to one of Argentina's main wine growing areas located in the foothills of the high Andes mountains.Take an afternoon guided tour of Mendoza before continuing on to a wine lodge set amid the vines.
Day 5 - Mendoza
Enjoy a guided tour of the Mayan-inspired Catena Zapata Vineyard, one of Argentina's most revered producers of Malbec.
Day 6 - Mendoza
Relax at your hotel or take an excursion to the city of Mendoza or to a high mountain estancia.
Day 7 - Mendoza/Cafayate
Fly to Salta and drive through the dramatic, colourful landscape of Las Conchas Gorge to El Esteco Vineyard and the Patios de Cafayate Hotel.
Day 8 - Cafayate
Enjoy the beautiful surrounding area or relax by the pool or in the hotel's spa.
Day 9 - Cafayate/Cachi
Drive along the Calchaqui Valley to la Merced del Alto, a beautiful hotel just a short distance from the pretty colonial town of Cachi.
Day 10 - Cachi
Spend the day at your leisure,or venture into Cachi to shop for local crafts and visit the small museum. Your hotel has an excellent wine cellar offering winetasting of some of the premium vintages from the Calchaqui Valley and its high altitude wineries.
Day 11 - Cachi/Salta
Drive to Salta through Los Cardones National Park with its giant cacti. In Salta, enjoy a guided tour of the city and the summer village of San Lorenzo before heading out of town to the House of Jasmines, a faithfully restored,traditional farmstead offering cosy rooms and home-cooking.
Day 12 - Salta/Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires and say farewell to Argentina at the Esquina Carlos Gardel tango show, a revival of the 'The Golden Decade of Buenos Aires'.
Day 13 - Buenos Aires/London
Fly back to London.
