Day 1 - Melbourne
On arrival you will be met by your A&K guide and transferred to the Park Hyatt for your overnight stay. Once you have settled in, join Kenneth Park on an unforgettable tour of the State Library, a remarkable 19th century institution redeveloped for the 21st century, one of Melbourne's architectural treasures. This afternoon join your local guide on a walk through Melbourne's beautiful lanes and arcades. Discover local designers and speciality retailers and learn about the history and architecture of the buildings.
Day 2 - Melbourne/Apollo Bay
Collect your rental vehicle and drive to Apollo Bay visiting the surfing towns of Torquay and Lorne en route. They offer stunning beaches and water sports as well as some of Australia's best rainforest scenery in the nearby Otway Ranges. Stop at Cinema Point, located 10km north-east of Lorne, for one of the finest views along this coastal route. Check-in to Chocolate Gannets, near the quaint town of Apollo Bay, for an overnight stay. Chocolate Gannets is a charming property, set opposite a lovely sandy beach and surrounded by breath-taking countryside. Enjoy a stroll along the beach to the restaurants of Apollo Bay.
Day 3 - Apollo Bay/Port Fairy
After breakfast enjoy a scenic drive along the Great Ocean Road past the magnificent Twelve Apostles. One of the most spectacular natural attractions in Victoria, the Twelve Apostles are a series of striking rock stacks that rise out of the Southern Ocean. Continue towards the gorgeous fishing village of Port Fairy for your overnight stay at Oscar's Waterfront Boutique Hotel. Enjoy seafaring village life, with their fishing wharves, beautifully preserved colonial buildings and maritime museums recounting the stories of ships wrecked off the rugged shipwreck coast. Day 4 - Port Fairy/Robe
Today's four hour scenic drive takes you to the seaside town of Robe where you will stay overnight at The Edge. Cross the state border into South Australia and take time to explore Mt Gambier with its famous 'Blue Lake' in the crater of an extinct volcano. Continue on to Robe, once one of Australia's most important ports exporting wool and horses, it's now a popular seaside resort. The Edge is a wonderful beachfront property with views over Long Beach and the surrounding countryside.
Day 5 - Robe/Adelaide
This morning continue into Adelaide.
