Why we like it

  • Chitabe Camp is located in a private concession in the south east of the Okavango Delta
  • Eight individually designed spacious Meru style tented rooms are all en-suite with an indoor and outdoor shower
  • Activities include day and night game drives, walking safaris and excellent bird watching opportunities
  • Chitabe Camp is in a productive game viewing area due to many habitats surrounding the camp

A&K Top Tip

The night drives at Chitabe Camp are not to be missed an incredible experience to possibly see lions start their hunt and the other nocturnal species come to life.

Guest Testimonial

Ben Harrison was helpful and knowledgeable. Easy to deal with. (Much better then the Kuoni rep I talked to first, then abandoned!)

- JC, Botswana

Chitabe Camp is located in an area of 28 000 hectares of pristine Okavango Delta wilderness, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve and is nestling between two main river systems is why game viewing is so rewarding in this area. The main area of the camp consists of a lounge and dining area on a raised deck with superb views over the floodplain. There is a pool to relax by in the heat of the day. All of the tented rooms are linked to the main area by elevated walkways, each room has been decorated individually and are very comfortable all en-suite with indoor and outdoor shower.

Leopards are often seen near Chitabe Camp due to the high numbers of impala in the vicinity. Also encountered are buffalo, elephant, lion and occasional sightings of wild dog, the Botswana Wild Dog Research Project is based from Chitabe. Night drives also provide opportunities for guests to see nocturnal mammals such as civet, serval, genet, porcupine and aardwolf.
