Why we like it
- Motswiri is located on the banks of the Selinda Spillway in the northern corner of the Selinda reserve
- Motswiri specialises in exclusive and personalised horse riding and walking safaris in 120,000 acres of pristine wilderness
- There are five large classic Meru style tents all en suite on raised decks
- Motswiri is staffed by a team with more than 50 years' experience of hosting low impact safaris in Botswana
- Ideal camp for experienced horse riders wanting to explore the bush by horseback
Watching the resident hippopotamus on foot or on horseback is an exciting addition to any safari activity.
We had the most wonderful guides throughout our trip. They were incredibly knowledgeable, patient and humble. A Trip of a Lifetime. We were sorry to come home.

Although Motswiri specialises in horse riding for experienced riders there are plenty of activities on offer for the non-rider including boating, canoeing, game drives and walking. The game drives are sometimes restricted due to the high level of the flood waters and boating is normally the better way to access the reserve. On each activity the maximum number of guests is 6 ensuring a personalised experience. Motswiri welcomes families, with the minimum age for the horse safaris being 12 years old.
Motswiri has five large classic Meru tents all on raised decking, the camp will only take a maximum of 10 people. Each tent overlooks the Selinda Spillway where the elephants regularly come to bathe in the afternoons. The main area of the camp offers a large, comfortable sitting area with separate dining and there is also a small plunge pool for those hot October afternoons.
