The luxury Catamaran Athala II was specifically designed and built to cruise the Galapagos Islands in style. The elegant design provides more comfort, superior speed, excellent stability and meets all the latest safety standards. The Athala is unrivalled in offering the generous, comfortable accommodation and amenities of a larger boat while still preserving the relaxed exclusivity of a smaller vessel. All cabins on board are of a luxurious standard following a new refurbishment from its new owners. Each cabin has a well-appointed private bathroom, water, air conditioning and wall to wall carpeting. All have ocean views with large portrait windows. This spacious catamaran accommodates 16 guests in 8 spacious cabins, four of which have private balconies.
From your comfortable base aboard the Athala II, you will be able to explore the best visitor sites in the islands. There are many opportunities to hike, swim, snorkel, kayak, bird-watch and take great close-up photographs of the flora and fauna. The M/V Athala II anchors off-shore at two visitor sites per day. Passengers are divided into groups of a maximum of twelve people, each with its own naturalist guide. All guides are certified Class II or III naturalists and speak fluent English. On the islands you will follow marked trails, walking at a leisurely pace, with your guide explaining the unusual sights you see. You will spend 3 to 4 hours at each site, allowing plenty of time to explore the abundant wildlife. The snorkelling schedule allows several immersions during the cruise. The use of snorkelling equipment and wetsuits is complimentary. Most of the snorkelling activities take place before or after island excursions, so that you will not miss the hikes.
