May through to September offers the mildest weather and the highest number of travellers. This is the time of the long, long summer days in the land of the midnight sun. Further north in Lapland, October to March are good times to visit to enjoy winter activities, such as ice swimming and dog sledding and it is the best time to see the spectacular Northern Lights.
