Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort
Why we like it
- Luxury boutique hotel built in an amphitheatre style with stunning views of the Aegean Sea
- A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World
- Opposite to the sacred island of Delos, birthplace of Apollo according to Greek mythology
- 107 rooms and suites are set within five acres of Mediterranean landscape
- Perfect for both couples and families
For a honeymoon, we suggest staying in an Executive Suite; located on the top floor, they enjoy 85 square metres of indoor space as well as offering beautiful panoramic views from the rooftop terrace.
A first-class service: finding a suitable cruise to fit my parameters; managing to extend the time during which the offer would remain open so as to give me more time to discuss the trip with my travelling companion; and finally making all the train and hotel bookings to make the whole holiday as trouble free as possible. I cannot speak too highly of the way in which everything been conducted.

Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort enjoys an enviable location on Ayios Yiannis beach, renowned as the film location for the English movie, Shirley Valentine. There is an abundance of activities to be experienced nearby with the boutique shops, nightlife and prestigious restaurants of Mykonos Town just under five kilometres away and the historical site of Delos Island a 30 minute boat ride to the east. The hotel itself is comprised of a series of glimmering whitewashed buildings spread across five acres. Inside, the typical Cycladic architecture is complemented by a contemporary, romantic décor of white drapes, canopy style beds, spacious mosaic bathrooms and most enjoy a private balcony or terrace with sea or garden views. Each of the suites boast a private sun terrace, separate living area and Jacuzzi bathtub while some also have a private pool.
With an ethos dedicated to individual guest service and satisfaction, you can be assured you'll be well looked after throughout the entirety of your stay. Spend a day relaxing on the beach with complimentary umbrellas and loungers as well as exclusive beach attendants and no water sports to ensure a peaceful and relaxing time. The spectacular outdoor amphitheatre can be used for yoga and Pilates sessions or unique private dinners, or feel like a god or goddess with an ancient Greek beauty treatment at the Luxury Althea Spa. Sport facilities include Tennis, Squash courts, table tennis, swimming pool and modern fitness centre.
Best time to be there
The mainland and islands are very hot and dry in July and especially August, the preferred travel month for French, Italian and Spanish holiday makers, making conditions busy, hotel availability limited and the beaches crowded. May, June and September are infinitely more comfortable and generally less expensive.
Rhodes, with its refreshing westerly winds and moderate summer heat, makes it the ideal place to travel for a summer holiday or a short break in the spring or Autumn.
