India, 14 Nights

This in depth journey takes in the spiritual River Ganges and Varanasi as well as the 'Pink City' of Jaipur. With a visit to Ranthambore in search of tiger, this journey has something for everyone.  

Day 1 - London/Delhi
Fly from London Heathrow to Delhi.

Day 2 - Delhi
Arrive in Delhi just after midnight and transfer to hotel Taj Mahal. A full day's sightseeing exploring both Old and New Delhi.

Day 3 - Delhi/Varanasi
Fly to Varanasi and transfer to Taj Nadesar Palace for an overnight stay. In the afternoon, take a tour that will introduce this historic and devout city.

Day 4 - Varanasi/Khajuraho
Take an early boat trip on the Ganges. Fly to Khajuraho and arrive at the Lalit Temple View Hotel before a tour of the city's 10th century temple, with its famous erotic carvings.

Day 5 - Khajuraho/Jhansi/Agra
Drive from Khajuraho to Jhansi railway station (175kms/4 hours) and connect with the Shatabdi Express to Agra Amarvilas, which is your home for the next two nights.

Day 6 - Agra
A full day to visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Later visit Fatehpur Sikri to explore the deserted city, once a gloriously wealthy Mughal city.

Day 7 - Agra/Bharatpur/Ranthambore
In the morning, transfer to Bharatpur railway station to board an express train, which traverses unspoiled countryside, to Ranthambore. Check-in to the Oberoi Vanyavilas, tented accommodation for two nights to really experience the excitement of an Indian safari.  

Day 8 - Ranthambore National Park
Enjoy morning and afternoon half-day game drives to explore the depths of the forest - a vital refuge for the few remaining Royal Bengal Tigers.

Day 9 - Ranthambore/Jaipur
Take a morning game drive before setting off for Jaipur (156 kms/3 1/2 hours), India's famous 'Pink City', where you will spend the next two nights at the Oberoi Rajvilas.

Day 10 - Jaipur
In the morning, visit the Amber Fort. In the afternoon, tour the famous palaces and temples of this glorious ancient city.

Day 11 - Jaipur/Udaipur
Fly from Jaipur to Udaipur, and check-in to the Oberoi Udaivilas, which will be your home for the next two nights. The afternoon is free to explore.

Day 12 - Udaipur
A city tour unveils highlights and hidden charms, while the evening is reserved for a sunset cruise on Lake Pichola.

Day 13 - Udaipur/Mumbai/London
Fly to Mumbai where a room has been arranged before your late flight back to London arriving day 14. Alternatively, why not spend few extra days exploring the vibrant city of Mumbai?
