NEED TO KNOW
- The wellness centre draws on the mysticism and monastic feel of the town, with reflexology, a range of massage, sauna and Turkish bath all housed in the cellar of the Palazzo
- The family also own the nearby Bianconi sports centre which has indoor pools, a fully equipped Techno gym, all types of sports courts which guests of the Palazzo can use
- The library is full of books from 17th Century on, some of which were rescued from the cellars during the restoration of the building and are priceless. The library even contains a secret door leading to a meeting room, evoking the clandestine meetings that were held here throughout history
- The 24 rooms are furnished with elegance and style, featuring family owned antiques from the 15th century. The four poster beds in the Junior Suites are ultra luxurious, as are the bathrooms. Junior suites also interconnect with rooms, making them perfect for families
- The Vespasia restaurant is relaxing and provides elegant fine dining, while other rooms have cosy and more intimate corners for lunch and supper
THE HOTEL
After six years of restoration and refurbishment, the Palazzo Seneca is more a visit to a private home than a stay in a hotel, such is the warmth of the service, the comfortable fittings and the relaxed atmosphere. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like a valued guest and very much at home, an atmosphere that has been created by the owners themselves, the Bianconi brothers. The family has owned the Palazzo and a number of restaurants and other businesses in the town for hundreds of years, but have restored the Palazzo with the modern discerning traveller in mind; tradition and history combining with modern design and state of the art technology.
The tasting menu provided by the expert chef Flavio in the Vespasia restaurant was second to none. The exquisite wines complemented and enhanced the local produce much of which is grown or made by the family businesses to ensure the high quality of everything that is served. The setting with the patio doors open to the terrace was delightful.
