Why we like it
- 14th Century Roman Villa situated in the heart of historic city, Verona
- No two rooms are the same
- Authentic Italian cuisine created by a Michelin-starred chef
- Close to the Corso Porta Borsari, Arena amphitheatre, the Adige River and the Casa di Guilietta
- Great for couples in search of a romantic getaway
Just a 30 minute drive from Verona is the stunning Lake Garda, Italy's largest lake, surrounded by emerald hills and small, quaint towns; it is definitely worth a visit.
I am delighted with the service. I thought our situation was hopeless, but Sandrine Baker proved me wrong by finding hotels in the right places. We are all looking forward to the trip!

Built at the start of the 14th Century, Palazzo Victoria is a beautiful medieval building with original roman mosaics and brickwork. Located in one of the World's most romantic cities, the hotel is ideally placed within walking distance of many of Verona's top attractions, including the infamous balcony of Romeo's Juliet.
Choose to stay in one of the 71 large and luxurious rooms or suites, all individually decorated. Each has elegant high ceilings, marble bathrooms and hand-painted murals, some with plush Jacuzzi bathtubs and views looking out to Verona or across the hotel's courtyard of lemon trees. Located the first floor, the Victoria Suite's private balcony overlooks the Porta Borsari Roman gate and pretty square below, while the most spacious Marcellus Suite has four large bedrooms, each with their own marble bathroom and one with Hammam.
Michelin-starred chef, Carmine Caló culminates a contemporary presentation of traditional Italian cuisine at Borsari 36 Restaurant, where Lucite and wooden chairs are scattered amidst olive trees and vibrant splashes of colour. Witness the talented chefs at work in the central open kitchen, or during one of the live barbecue shows, all dishes are created using the finest local produce.
As evening falls, make your way to Victoria Club for post-dinner drinks. A favourite spot with affluent Veronians, here you can enjoy a glass of locally produced Valpolicella or refined cocktails while listening to the soothing melodies of live Jazz.
Best time to be there
Coastal areas and the islands are great year round, although July and August can be very hot. The arts and opera seasons are generally at their peak outside these months. August is very much a shut down month as Italians take their annual break.
