Four Seasons Hotel Amman

Day 2 Amman & Jerash
Your private guide will meet you in the hotel foyer for your in-depth tour of Amman and Jerash, accompanying you to the Citadel, the Archaeological Museum, the Roman Theatre and the Folklore Museum, sharing knowledge and insight at every step. High above the city, at the ancient Citadel, you can study the traces of Amman's many lives: the regal columns of a roman temple in silhouette against the sky, the elegant capitals of a Byzantine church, endlessly inventive carvings in the Umayyad Palace and fascinating displays in the Archaeological Museum.

Day 3 Amman / Petra via Mount Nebo, Madaba and Kerak
Set off on along the ancient Kings' Highway to Mount Nebo, the mountain where Moses was allowed to see the Holy Land; from here you will be treated to an expansive view over Jordan, the Dead Sea, Israel and - when the weather is clear - Jerusalem. Your next stop is Madaba, the 'City of Mosaics' that stands perched on an archaeological site with more than 4,000 years of history buried beneath it; here you’ll visit St. George's Church which houses the world famous mosaic floor. Continuing along the King’s Highway, you’ll stop at at Kerak and the Crusader's Castle before arriving in the rose-red city of Petra. You’ll be staying in the Movenpick Resort Petra, perfectly located just outside the entrance of the historic site.

Day 4 Petra
Put on your walking shoes to ensure you can do justice to what is undoubtedly the jewel in Jordan’s crown, the ancient city of Petra. You’ll enter the site through the Siq, a narrow gorge that stretches over 1km in length, flanked on either side by soaring, 80m high cliffs, where you’ll be surrounded by dazzling colours and rock formations. As you reach the end of the Siq you will catch your first glimpse of the famous Al-Khazneh (the Treasury) delicately carved into the sheer rock face. There are hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs and a massive Roman-style theatre; your guide will enlighten you with stories, history and insight into every aspect of this magnificent and beautiful ancient complex.

Day 5 Little Petra & Wadi Rum

After breakfast there will be time to visit Little Petra Al Beidha a miniature version of Petra containing a number of notable tombs which you access via a short siq, before heading off to the desert sands of Wadi Rum. Otherwise known as Valley of the Moon, the landscape of Wadi Rum with its immense size, colour and awe-inspiring shapes creates an almost supernatural atmosphere. You’ll see Bedouin camps in the Wadi, which is still home to a number of Bedouin families who welcome visitors with the hospitality and generosity that the tribe is renowned for. You’ll have fun exploring the desert dunes by 4x4 before stopping for the night at the luxurious Bespoke Hideaways Camp, where you’ll experience the best both worlds; splendid isolation under a canopy of stars, while enjoying every creature comfort.
Bespoke Hideaways Camp | Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Days 6 - 7 Wadi Rum / Dead Sea
Set off on the Desert Highway to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Due to high temperatures, low humidity and high atmospheric pressure, the air is rich in oxygen. With the highest content of minerals and salts in the world, the Dead Sea water and the dark mud found on the shores have been used for over 2,000 years for therapeutic purposes. Your guide will see you settled into the Kempinski before bidding farewell, leaving you to enjoy a couple of days of rest and relaxation.
Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea | Meals: Breakfast

Day 8 Dead Sea / UK
Meet with your A&K representative this morning, who'll drive you to Amman airport for your return flight home.
