Why we like it

  • Amazing Wadi Dana views
  • Wildlife heaven for endangered species such as the Sand Cat, the Syrian Wolf, the Lesser Kestrel and the Spiny Tailed Lizard
  • Close to wilderness yet only 30 miles from Petra
  • The sunsets across the far side of the Wadi make this an exceptionally beautiful place to be in the evenings
  • The guesthouse is famous for excellent local food
  • Be sure to explore on foot as most of Dana's treasures remain hidden in wilderness zones where vehicles are not permitted

A&K Top Tip

The terrace is the perfect spot in the morning to watch the amazing birdlife on offer.

Guest Testimonial

I am delighted with the enthusiasm, willingness and dynamism of the A&K team. Right from my first call I felt as if you were as excited about this trip as I was. I was booking this trip as a birthday gift for my husband, and it was a delight to hear such energy coming from your end throughout the booking process. You answered my questions, and made promises that you kept, all of which contributed greatly to a very positiv

Perched on the edge of the precipitous cliffs of Wadi Dana, this beautifully styled building merges elements of village vernacular architecture with more modern elements, creating a structure with a definable Arabic character, unlike any other in Jordan, offering breath-taking views of the reserve. Close by is the small village of Dana where guests can get a glimpse of the old Ottoman houses and traditional lifestyle. Explore the terraced gardens where fruit and herbs are cultivated by the locals.

Dana Guest House offers nine simple, comfortable rooms set in a friendly ambience. All rooms have air-conditioning and satellite television. Considering that the Guesthouse was originally meant to house researchers, all the rooms share external toilets & showers, except for one suite, which has a private bathroom, adding character and authenticity to the entire experience. Most rooms also come with private terraces that offer spectacular views of the surrounding wadi and mountains.

Situated next door is a small handicrafts workshop and is a great place for visitors to purchase local arts and crafts; there is also a nature reserve museum. The income from the reserve helps to fund the conservation efforts established by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN).

Warmer clothes are necessary for winter and cool summer evenings. Rainwear is needed from November to April. It has been known to snow as far south as Petra.
