    Tortilis Camp

    Amboseli , Kenya

Facing the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro and with seemingly endless views across vast plains, Tortilis is a charming, rustic tented camp shaded by a natural forest bustling with life. This is a great place to start a safari, relax and recharge the spirit. With 17 spacious en suite tents raised on wooden decks with large verandas, the emphasis is on service and comfort without compromising the ecosystem. Good food is a central theme, setting you up for wonderful experiences including extraordinary encounters with some of Africa's largest elephants, as well as other prolific game. After your game drive cool off in the swimming pool - or with a hilltop sundowner.

Kenya's equatorial location ensures warm weather year round, though it can be cool at night and first thing in the morning. There are two rain seasons, the long rains occur from April to June and short rains from October to December. The rainfall is sometimes heavy and when it does come it often falls in the afternoons and evenings. The hottest period is from February to March and coldest in July to August.
