THE HOTEL
This 1920's camp returns to the original spirit and essence of 'safari', reminiscent of a golden bygone era, an era of romance, adventure and elegance. The Cottar family has long been associated with the safari business in Kenya. Charles Cottar came to Kenya in 1910 following in the footsteps of Theodore Roosevelt and soon established himself as one of Kenya's most renowned hunters, as well as one of the first cinematographers to capture wildlife images. In keeping with family tradition, Calvin Cottar, who owns Cottars 1920's Camp, is a safari guide of international repute. Evenings in the camp are spent around the campfire telling tales of royalty and famous personage who were all part of the hunting lore of time gone by. The camp is located on a 22,000 acre exclusive concession in the Maasai Mara, bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves. Here you will experience the ultimate in personalized service and guiding.

We recommendThe Cottar family have been operating luxury tented safaris since 1919, and have been part of the Mara community for decades.
