Bagan, Irrawaddy, Mandalay , Myanmar
Built in 2007, the RV Paukan is a charming cruising boutique hotel that plies the waters from Bagan to Mandalay. Accommodating up to 55 passengers, looked after by a crew of 30, each of the teak-walled cabins and suites are furnished in colonial and traditional Myanmar style. We recommend the Deluxe Cabins which come with a French balcony and sliding windows for spectacular views of the river, or splash out on one of the beautiful Suites at the bow. Whilst on-board, you can dine in style at the restaurant, have a drink in the Saloon Bar, watch the world go by from the sundeck or relax with a Burmese-style massage.
Myanmar has three clear seasons: from March to May are the very hot summer months, the wet and humid monsoon runs from May to October and the cold dry winter lasts from November to February. The best time of year to visit is late November early December when the rains have gone, the landscape is lush and green and the skies are crystal clear. However any time from late November to March is a good time to travel.
