Rwanda Gorilla Tracking

Rwanda, 7 Nights

Day 1 - London/Nairobi
Depart London-Heathrow on British Airways. Arrive in Nairobi and overnight at the Norfolk Hotel.

Day 2 - Nairobi/Kigali/Kinigi
Upon arrival in Kigali take a leisurely drive north to Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 3 - Kinigi
Forming part of the Virunga Mountain Range, the Volcanoes National Park is home to half of the remaining 650 mountain gorillas in the area. After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the Park Headquarters. Led by experienced trackers, you will make your way through the forest in search for one of the habituated gorilla families of this region. Trekking can take anything between one and four hours and a maximum of one hour is spent with the gorillas. After lunch at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, there will be time to visit a local village. Overnight will be at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 4 - Kinigi/Gisenyi
A second morning of gorilla tracking where there may be the chance to see a different gorilla group. After lunch you will drive about an hour and a half to Gisenyi where you have the afternoon at leisure on the shores of Lake Kivu. Overnight Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Day 5 - Gisenyi/Kigali
The morning is at leisure, after which you will travel back to Kigali for an afternoon city tour. Overnight at the Kigali Serena Hotel.

Day 6 - Kigali/Nairobi
Depending on your onward flight time, there is chance to take some optional excursions before flying to Nairobi where you will connect with a flight home to London-Heathrow, arriving Day 7.
