THE HOTEL
Where the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains sweep down to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, emerald-green pastures and immaculate polo fields enclose this luxurious country-house hotel. Just 21 kms from Plettenberg Bay, Kurland is ideally located on the Garden Route and can provide endless activities to keep the family entertained.
The 12 individually-designed guest suites are tailored to suit your needs: open fires, objets d'art and original oil paintings adding character to comfortable rooms with every facility imaginable. Ten rooms have special loft rooms for children and some have private plunge pools for those hot summer evenings.
Throughout the day, horseback riding, fishing and tennis are the active options, while quieter alternatives are on offer around the swimming pool or in the hotel spa. Situated on a polo estate, there is also the opportunity to learn to play the game. Fine dining draws on the freshest local produce, beautifully presented in a fusion of traditional South African cuisine touched by the cultures of Europe, with a choice of the finest wines and brandies to make the perfect finale to every day. Time is of no consequence at Kurland, and guests set their own pace. Kurland aims to provide comfort, serenity, and great hospitality and ensures that guests have the pleasure of engaging in country pursuits and new experiences.
Kurland's Homestead is a welcome haven in the evening, enjoy a drink with canapés before dinner in front of the log fire and experience true 5 Star, Relais and Châteaux hospitality.
