Amazon River, Peru 13th -15th October 2016
The first stop on your round-the-world odyssey is Peru. Two river cruisers, Aqua and Aria, will be your home for three nights sailing on the mighty Amazon River. Awesome in its scale and largely untamed, the Amazon and its rainforest ecosystem are home to one third of all of the world's species. Expert naturalist guides will introduce you to just some of them -from brightly coloured birds to rare pink river dolphins. Your voyage includes freshly prepared cuisine that celebrates traditional Amazonian cooking and local ingredients.

Easter Island 21st -22nd October 2016*
Cross the International Dateline en route to SamoaA flight of around 3,000 miles across the Pacific will bring you to remote and mysterious Easter Island -where colossal and unmistakable moai gaze out to sea. A warm welcome awaits, followed by sundowners and a Hotumatua ritual -a traditional celebration of the island's mythical founding. The next day, visit the Orongo ceremonial village (site of the island's 'birdman' rituals) to see haka pei -a form of downhill sledging. Following a barbecue on the beach, there are a variety of options, including a cave tour, an archaeological trek by vehicle or horseback, or a hike along 'the way of the moai' -a chance to view many of Easter Island's iconic statues in one excursion. In the evening, tuck into a special umu (earth-cooked) feast in a Rapa Nui home, accompanied by local dignitaries.

Samoa 23rd -25th October 2016
With balmy tropical breezes, emerald-blue sea and pristine beaches, Samoa is a wonderful place to kick back and relax. On arrival you will be greeted by local dancers, before a welcome drink and a relaxing evening at your resort, Aggie Grey's Lagoon. Following a morning exploring the village of Vailima, the last residence of the renowned Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, there will be a barbecue on the beach. In the afternoon, you could choose to dive the kaleidoscopic reefs, work up an appetite on the tennis court, or indulge with a spa treatment. A celebratory fia fia -a feast of Polynesian dishes accompanied by dancers and fire-spinners -will see you off on the next leg of your journey.

An island chain of undisturbed indigenous tribes and sweeping natural beauty, Papua New Guinea is known as one of the most unspoiled and intriguing parts of the world. When you touch down in the capital, Port Moresby, your guide will take you to visit the fascinating National Museum before checking you in to Airways Hotel. The following day, you'll fly to the Southern Highlands or East Sepik Province, where expert guides will lead you on walks along rainforest paths brimming with flora and fauna. You'll meet members of local tribes, among them the Huli wigmen and the Melpa people, witnessing demonstrations of bilum (string bag) making, umbrella making and archery. Local experts will join you to give talks on the social and family customs of the tribal people. A highlight of your visit and surely your whole journey is witnessing a Huli sing sing -a vibrant traditional song and dance. A friendly, flower-filled welcome will be the prelude to two adventure-packed days. A charter flight and boat ride will take you to Komodo National Park, home to the largest lizard in the world and the island's preeminent predator -the Komodo dragon. The following day, your guide will take you to the Tirta Empul Temple, where natural spring waters draw thousands of Hindu pilgrims. You'll witness a traditional Balinese religious ceremony and processional before afternoon refreshments at the Presidential Palace. Capping off a spiritually-minded day, a Balinese priest performs a blessing, followed by a peek into the future with the opportunity for a one-on-one consultation with an astrologer. On your final evening in Bali you'll be led to a beautifully-lit venue for a delicious dinner accompanied by Balinese dance, including the thrilling kecak fire-twirling dance. Please note that the travelling party will be split into two groups in Bali, visiting Komodo National Park and Tirta Empul Temple on alternate days.

Sri Lanka 1st - 3rd November 2016
Your first day in Sri Lanka will include a journey to the tea plantations to visit the Tea Virgins factory, where the owner himself will introduce you to the process of tea manufacturing and you can enjoy a fresh brew. Lunch will be at Kahanda Kanda, a stunning boutique hotel set amid lush tea plantations, with panoramic views over Koggala Lake. A visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort -a former European colonial outpost occupying the south-western tip of the island -is planned for the afternoon. The following day, a helicopter will transport you to the Cultural Triangle, a cluster of ancient cities and temples that include the most iconic Buddhist site in Sri Lanka, Sigiriya. An expert will be on hand to shed light on the meaning behind its iconography. Sri Lanka is renowned for its rich blue sapphires, and if you wish we can arrange for a personal shopper to help you find the best pieces at the best prices. Dinner is a celebratory affair at Galle Fort -reserved just for you -and will be accompanied by local musicians. Madagascar 4th - 6th November 2016
Renowned for its endemic and diverse flora and fauna, Madagascar is one of the most wild and beautiful destinations in the world. You'll land on the island of Nosy Be -known as 'the perfumed island' due to the fragrant ylang-ylang that grows everywhere. The first day's exploration will take you to the island of Nosy Komba for an encounter with Madagascar's charming endemic primates, the lemurs. As you enjoy refreshments on the beach, a local storyteller will introduce you to Madagascan folklore. Your next day kicks off with a trip to Millot Plantation, one of the finest cacao and coffee growers in Madagascar, to sample some of its delicious produce. In the evening there will be a delicious seafood buffet on the beach, accompanied by local musicians.

Kenya 7th - 9th November 2016
On arrival in Nairobi, a private charter plane will be waiting to whisk you to the Masai Mara for your safari adventure. The journey to A&K's private tented camp will be the first of many chances to see the amazing variety of wildlife: lion, elephant, giraffe, leopard and cheetah all roam these plains. The next three days will be spent enjoying game drives, a guided bush walk, and an early-morning balloon safari complete with breakfast served in the bush. There will also be an opportunity to visit a Maasai village and meet the nomadic herders who have acted as stewards of this land for hundreds of years. A visit to a school provides a glimpse into how A&K Philanthropy is working to improve lives in the Mara. On the final evening there will be an informal talk from a wildlife conservation expert.

Monaco 10th -11th November 2016
This epic round-the-world journey ends in Nice, the gateway to the dazzling Côte d'Azur. On arrival, a fleet of chartered helicopters will take you to the neighbouring principality of Monaco –Geoffrey Kent's adopted home. A farewell gala dinner hosted by Geoffrey Kent will be laid on at the ultra-stylish Hôtel Metropole Monte Carlo. Your transport back to Nice is via a fleet of privately chartered helicopters.

Weather

Kenya's equatorial location ensures warm weather year round, though it can be cool at night and first thing in the morning. There are two rain seasons, the long rains occur from late March to early June and short rains from October to December. The rainfall is sometimes heavy and when it does come it often falls in the afternoons and evenings. The hottest period is from February to March and coldest in July to August.

Weather

Due to the size of the country, Madagascar experiences a range of climatic conditions. The heaviest rainfall tends to fall on the east coast and in the north particularly through the cyclone season between December and March. The highlands and parts of the south west remain fairly dry year round although sharp showers can be experienced in Fort Dauphin area.

Being such a geographically diverse country the weather in Peru is determined both by altitude and season. May to October is the best time to travel although the Amazon area is hot and humid throughout the year.

Best time to be there

During our winter months, when the humidity is lower and the temperature more comfortable for sightseeing and exploration. However, the monsoon season of May to September should not be discounted for travel as the whole of Sri Lanka is bursting into lush greenery due to the rainfall showing you a side of this island not everyone sees.
