Arguably the most magnificent park in Africa, the Serengeti has vast landscapes and prolific amounts of game. Serengeti takes its name from the Maasai word meaning "endless plain" the park is famed for the annual migration of some 1.5 million wildebeest and around 250,000 zebra.

With the migration spending much of the year in the boundaries of the park spectacular games sightings are not far off.  Prides of lion thrive in the park as well as the common plains game such as giraffe, warthogs and reedbucks.  The Grumeti River in the northern part of the park contains some of the largest Nile crocodiles in the world.

Best times to visit this park is in the dry season which runs from January to February and then again from June through to October.  January and February is a prime time to visit as this is the time the wildebeest and zebra calf, this along is amazing but mix it together with large prides of lions it becomes spectacular.

Guest Testimonial

Joanne Swinton dealt with us and our holiday with endless good humour and patience. Her suggestions were perfect and we all had a magical time. She really knew her "stuff". She even organised a car and driver for our first full day in Dar es Salaam which was a kindness beyond any duty. She arranged for our unaccompanied children to be chaperoned through all the airports, and for my husband and me to be taken care of too. There are not words enough to express her professionalism and forethought and our appreciation of them.
