Imagine a scattering of just ten rustic palm-frond bandas hidden in the shade of a tropical forest fringed by a soft white coral-sand beach, with spectacular reefs beyond. It's no dream but daily reality at Mnemba Island Lodge on this tiny Indian Ocean bolthole. With en suite bathrooms and private verandas, thatched dining and bar areas with beautiful open views, and baskets of fresh fruit, fish and lobsters brought by traditional outriggers to the shore, be prepared for an exquisite and exotic sojourn. A protection zone surrounds the island, conserving the magnificent coral reefs where giant turtles and dazzling tropical fish drift dreamily through the lagoons.
