As a Glaswegian, great culture, beaches and mountains have never been far away. Skiing on the Cairngorms led on to a season in Val d'Isere, and then a university semester in the Rockies studying International Ski Resort Management. I’ve also worked at Shamwari Game Reserve tracking the Big Five for clients, I saw the great migration of the Masai Mara and I even witnessed rhino poaching first hand. For me, nothing beats exploring the buzz of a new city or country – I'm always looking for a new adventure around the corner.
What is your favourite destination?
Val d'Isere – after many seasons here, it’ll always be my favourite resort.
Which destination is top of your bucket list and why?
I’ve hiked through the hills of Zermatt in summer, but I’ve never yet skied the resort in winter
Sun or snow?
The two aren’t comparable! But there isn't much better in the mountains than fresh snowfall overnight, the sun shining, first lifts and finishing off with a couple of après-ski beers.
Which five items do you always pack when travelling?
I always take a camera, a good pair of headphones, my passport, goggles and helmet.
What’s your top travel tip?
Always take videos as they invoke the senses more than a photo.
