About Melissa
My far-flung travels began in 1972 living in the mid-west USA for a year, where I was drawn to the wide open spaces and National Parks. Since then, my wanderlust has taken me to many parts of the world – each trip leaving me with memorable experiences that fuelled my desire to travel. Seeking to find the most unspoilt of places, two weeks in Bhutan proved to be a life-changing experience for me. As a previous wildlife illustrator and arboriculturalist, I found the vista of the huge Himalayan valley covered by wild Magnolia trees in flower just breathtaking.
