UK - Cape Town

Take an overnight flight from the UK to Cape Town. You’ll arrive refreshed and ready to dive into your South African adventure.

Cape Town

Stay in the heart of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront at the One&Only Cape Town. We recommend visiting Table Mountain first — a great way to get your bearings. Your private guide will escort you to the summit for panoramic views of the city and coast. Next take your pick of Cape Town’s sights, from the buzzing waterfront to splendid museums.

Cape Town

With three days to explore, you’ll find plenty to see. The brightly coloured Bo-Kaap neighbourhood is renowned for its South African cuisine. Head to the V&A Waterfront for atmospheric sundowners. You can start your discovery of African wildlife at the Two Oceans Aquarium. Or rest awhile in the calm surrounds of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Finally, head out of town for a taste of South Africa’s world-class vineyards, or waddle with African penguins on Boulders Beach.

Cape Town - Tswalu Kalahari Reserve

Flying to the Tswalu Reserve in the Kalahari Desert you’ll swap the inexhaustible pleasures of Cape Town for seemingly endless sands and untamed bush. Here your supreme safari lodges offer opportunities for evocative bush walks and atmospheric horse rides. During your first intrepid game drive, your guide will explain the local ecology and then join you for an unforgettable sundowner on the dunes.

Tswalu Kalahari Reserve

Against the backdrop of the staggering Korannaberg Mountains your morning and evening safaris in the Kalahari sand may reveal cheetah, black rhinoceros, Kalahari lion, antelope and the adorable meerkat. Between game activities, you’ll slot in spa treatments, private dinners on the dunes and glimpses of 380,000-year-old rock art.

Tswalu – Madikwe Game Reserve

After two days of thrill-seeking nature drives and bush walks in the Kalahari’s arid terrain, we’ll need to wrench you from the beauty of Tswalu for a flight to Madikwe via Johannesburg. Stay in an exquisite bush house on the river on an amazing private concession. It offers a fantastic array of wildlife but with far fewer people. With a private safari vehicle available, your game drives will be tailored to you. On your first off-road game drive, who knows what you may see?

Madikwe

Two days of game-viewing await you in this magical African wildlife wonderland. Madikwe teems with animals and birds: you’ll enjoy a very good chance of ticking off the Big Five’s elephant, Cape buffalo, rhinoceros, leopard and lion. Birdlife and countless smaller game are also abundant. At Morukuru River House there’s fine dining and exquisite sundowners by the river accompanied by a bewitching evening chorus.

Madikwe- Johannesburg - UK

With your camera packed with pictures of the African wilderness, and vivid images of countless exotic species fresh in your mind, your African safari must come to an end. Depart the bush, bound for Johannesburg, from where you’ll catch an evening flight back to the UK to arrive the following morning.
