Highlights

Highlights of Belize

Discover Mayan marvels, wild jungles, golden beaches and Caribbean waters on this seven-night escape to Belize. You’ll begin in the Cayo district, where you’ll be guided around the ancient ruins of Caracol. After your trip into the jungle, cool down with a dip in the natural waters of Rio on Pools. Then it’s off to enjoy the coastal charms of Placencia village. Think sunshine, white sand and stunning coral reefs. From this tropical base, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel, fish, dive and spot wildlife on guided excursions arranged by us. Experience the best Belize has to offer in one unforgettable week.

UK - Miami

Start your Belize tour with a midday flight to Miami. You’ll stop off overnight before flying to Belize City.

Miami - Cayo District

After your morning flight to Belize City we’ll meet you and you’ll travel Belize's Cayo District. This area of winding rivers, majestic waterfalls, mysterious caves and mountains is also home to the ruins of ancient Mayan cities.

Cayo District

Your guided visit to the Maya site of Caracol is no small thing: the largest archaeological site in Belize covers 30 square miles of thick, high canopied jungle. You’ll discover five ceremonial plazas and an astronomic observatory. Caracol was once one of the largest ancient Maya cities with a peak population of more than 120,000. On your return to your hotel you can wash away all that history with a swim at the Rio on Pools and Rio Frio Caves.

Cayo District

After your busy day wandering around the ruins of Caracol, take today to enjoy all that the Cayo District has on offer including a cave excursion to Actun Tunichil Muknal to explore the ancient Mayan artefacts, refreshing swims under gushing waterfalls, kayaking, biking or horse riding. You could learn all about the life of the iguana at the Green Iguana Conservation project in the Macal Valley or head to the Green Hills Butterfly Ranch and enjoy watching the colourful creatures flutter around you.

Cayo District - Placencia

Your private transfer will deliver you to Placencia, a coastal village surrounded by sandy beaches, mangrove-fringed lagoons, coral-studded cayes and an exciting blend of Garifuna, Creole and Mayan cultures. There are 16 miles of sandy beaches to discover here. Dip your toes in the Caribbean or head to the Placencia Lagoon for the perfect photo opportunity.

Placencia

Enjoy a relaxing couple of days in Placencia on the beach or snorkelling in the water. If you prefer something a bit more lively you can take a diving or fishing tour. For the really adventurous there’s the exhilarating experience of cave tubing: this is one of the few places in the world where you can ride a circular tube through underground caves. If nature is more your thing, on a Monkey River adventure you can learn all about Belize’s diverse ecosystem.

Placencia - UK

With memories of luscious jungle and Mayan ruins fresh in your mind you’ll begin your journey home, tired but elated and with plenty to tell your friends and family. We’ll take you back to the airport for the overnight flight to London via Miami.
