About Kigelia Ruaha
The Kigelia “sausage tree” grove is home to a simple tented camp with only six tents, providing shelter from the elements without detracting from the beauty of this natural bush setting. Set on the banks of the Ifuguru sand river in Ruaha National Park, this intimate camp has minimal impact on the environment and doesn’t deter wildlife from coming within sight.
The camp kitchen whips up some tasty feasts – simple but satisfying meals served in the intimate dining tent or, better still, under the stars. The tents’ interiors are stylishly furnished with locally crafted wooden furniture, and there's a hot safari-style bucket shower under the stars as well as a flushing loo.
Enjoy this wilderness by foot and on the open-sided 4x4 safari vehicle for night drives and tours in the day. The flora and fauna here are incredible and, walking beneath the gigantic baobab trees, you can enjoy the peaceful hours watching distant lion prides and elephant herds. This is a natural experience that will take you up close to some of the world’s most incredible creatures and the memories you create here are sure to stay with you forever.
