About Park Hyatt Zanzibar

Located within a landmark building in Stone Town, Park Hyatt Zanzibar is housed in Mambo Msiige. A magnificent building of great historic and cultural significance, the mansion is a perfect example of traditional Zanzibari architecture, with an impressive entrance of three Omani-style arches with intricately carved wooden doors. Constructed between 1847 and 1850 by Sheikh Salim bin Bushir, a close friend of the then ruler of Zanzibar, the building has seen several guises over the years, including a Mission House, an embassy and a personal home, and continues to hold great significance for those who reside in Stone Town.

With 67 rooms, including 11 suites, the hotel blends Zanzibari architecture and history with modern luxury and comforts. After a safari in the wild this exotic haven will be most welcome, as will the chance to recline on the stunning white sandy beaches that characterise the coastline. Standard Rooms come with Stone Town or Garden views; we love the View Rooms for windows overlooking the gorgeous Indian Ocean. For an extra special stay the Deluxe Rooms add a balcony, or really splash out on a suite for a massive 100m² of tranquillity.

Your home in Stone Town offers beachfront access, with a gorgeously refreshing infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The location really is the best in town at only a few seconds walk from the historic alleyways of Stone Town. Add to this the Zamani Residence for fine cuisine, Anantara Spa for a spot of pampering, and cocktails at the Pool Lounge: here you have the ultimate retreat. There is an abundance of things to do in Stone Town and we recommend taking a couple of nights to explore and add a cultural dimension to your stay in Zanzibar. A guided walk of the city and a visit to the Spice Market with a cooking class afterwards is a superb experience.
