About Annandale

A working coastal farm set along scenic Banks Peninsula on the South Island, Annandale whisks you away from the everyday world. Surrounded by the farm hills and facing a private bay, the unique cedar-clad beach house of Scrubby Bay provides a completely private setting for groups of up to 14 people. Modern and clean interiors give way to a huge open plan living space complete with roaring log fire and a well-stocked bookcase. There are three ocean-facing suites, a bunk room and an outdoor deck with swimming pool, making it the ideal choice for relaxing with family and friends.

Sleeping just two guests at a time, Seascape is arguably the most romantic of the villas. Accessible by helicopter or a 4WD transfer across the cliff-top farm tracks, it enjoys a pocket of privacy and peace overlooking a secluded bay. Characterised by a turf roof, stone walls and striking glass façade, this ultra-modern retreat provides comfort no matter what the season. Relax in the luxurious outdoor spa while on the lookout for playful dolphins and seals frolicking in the waters before you.

Perhaps the most charming, the Shepherd’s Cottage enjoys a secluded location in the hills with uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean and Kaikoura Ranges. A cosy rural retreat sleeping just two, return from a day exploring the farm to snuggle up on the sheepskins in front of the open fire.

The largest of all four villas is The Homestead. Built in the 1880s and lovingly restored to its former glory, the house boasts four master suites with en suite bathroom, a fifth bedroom with a set of bunk beds and two double beds, a private swimming pool and spa pool, tennis court and exercise gym.

Activities abound at Annandale; be it kayaking and boating in the surrounding turquoise waters, hiking or biking through the picturesque farmland, or learning the tricks of the trade during a hands-on private cookery class held in the comfort of your own villa.
