Our expert driver and guide will take you up the northern side of Mount Etna during this thrilling road trip. Witness the lava flow and craters carved into the landscape above the city of Catania by volcanic eruptions. You’ll get the chance to enjoy the breath-taking views from the Sartorius lava craters and learn more about the flora and fauna as you pass through the forest at Dagala.
Your journey will take you through the villages of Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa. You will travel off-road to a lava cave called Grotta del Corruccio which you will pass through by torch light. On arrival at the Sartorius Mounts you’re free to take a 40-minute walk until you reach the top. From this vantage point at 1,800 metres above sea level, gaze at the spectacular volcanic landscape below. After travelling back down the slopes enjoy a light Sicilian lunch in a local vineyard where you can sample a chilled glass of Etna Rosso wine.
