Weather

Kenya's equatorial location ensures warm weather year round, though it can be cool at night and first thing in the morning. There are two rain seasons, the long rains occur from late March to early June and short rains from October to December. The rainfall is sometimes heavy and when it does come it often falls in the afternoons and evenings. The hottest period is from February to March and coldest in July to August.

Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya's oldest and most visited parks and Amboseli safari one of Kenya's most popular safari holidays. With the majestic backdrop of the snow capped Mt Kilimanjaro in neighbouring Tanzania it is also of Kenya's most scenic parks. The park is home to large herds of elephants and the ever present hippo's in many of the large emerald green swamps which are formed by the seeping waters from Kilimanjaro. Lion, cheetah, leopard, Maasai giraffe are amongst the many other animals which are found here. Birding is also a great attraction to the park with over 425 species recorded.  During your Amboseli safari take time out to climb Observation Hill which has superb views of Kilimanjaro.

Guest Testimonial

Lauren Lees has been wonderful to work with, responsive, informative, and put together a great itinerary. I could not be more pleased, except if she was also our guide. I am sure she would have been fantastic.

Spring escapes with Abercrombie & Kent

The notion of a peak season is usually a function of weather and school holidays, often meaning an increase in hotel rates and airfares. However, at A&K we are big fans of the so-called 'shoulder' season. Here are a few great reasons to get packing this Spring.
