The private game reserves of the Eastern Cape provide a perfect extension to any Garden Route itinerary. There are a variety of game reserves in the region, all within easy access of Port Elizabeth. Many of the reserves are the result of years of conservation projects. Together, they have now successfully reintroduced many of the species that had been eradicated throughout the hunting years. Addo National Elephant Park began in 1931 when there were just 11 elephants remaining in the reserve, now there are over 450! The scenery of the Eastern Cape is varied with five different habitat types in the area: fynbos, forest, Karoo desert, grassland and savannah. The coastal region is worth an exploration with waters teeming with marine life.
An Abercrombie & Kent Eastern Cape safari and Eastern Cape holiday are the perfect ways to explore this vibrant region.

Guest Testimonial
Quite simply excellent. If I could say one thing it is that Egypt is the place to go right now, as there were virtually no tourists at some of the sights and that,I should think, is quite rare!![]()
