Tarangire National Park is one of the best-kept secrets of the northern safari circuit in Tanzania. The park is renowned for its very diverse bird population and wonderful panoramas of wide savannah grasslands dotted with open acacia woodland, studded with large baobab trees.
The park has distinct seasons which offer different experiences from the lush green season with large amounts of new born animals and as many as 550 different bird species to the dry and dust dry seasons when animals are forced to congregate around dwindling lagoons and the Tarangire River.
Large herds of elephant up to 300 at a time are not uncommon in the park especially in the dry season this together with large herds of wildebeest and buffalo make this park rather special. The sheer volumes and species of animals in the park make it have the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem.
Sanctuary Swala is to be found in a remote valley within Tarangire National Park, offering private game viewing, wilderness indulgence and a privileged glimpse of an Africa undisturbed by mass tourism.
Tarangire Treetops is situated in Tarangire Conservation Area, a wildlife management area of 57,000 acres within this private area it is possible to offer walking safaris, mobile camping...
