Highlights

Highlights of the Turquoise Coast

Immerse yourself in the culture of Lycia, better known as the Turquoise Coast. As the name suggests you’ll be welcomed by the shimmering Mediterranean which fringes the south-western shore of Turkey. Join our guide to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Xanthos, famed for its trilingual obelisk, and marvel at the views from the acropolis at Kaunos. After a day of discovery, relax on the beautiful Iztuzu Beach famous, for it’s nesting turtles, or stroll along the long stretch of sand at Patara. Take to the sea with a private cruise and seek out your own deserted cove.

UK - Dalaman

Fly into Dalaman from the UK or, if you’ve already started your travels through Turkey, from Istanbul. You’ll be met by your driver and have time to visit the Mediterranean resort of Dalyan before being transferred to your beachside hotel. Immerse yourself in Turkish history with a visit to the archaelogical site of Kaunos. Enjoy fabulous views from the remnants of an acropolis. Stroll around the ruins of a Roman bath and a 6th-century church. Complete your first day by heading to the beautiful Iztuzu Beach famous for its nesting turtles.

Xanthian - Patara

Join your guide to learn about the ancient cities along the coast. Xanthos has been a mecca for historians since the early 19th century. Within this UNESCO World Heritage Site you can see the Xanthian Obelisk regarded as important as the Rosetta Stone for its trilingual inscriptions. Stroll around The Harpy Tomb, a marble chamber which echoes back to when Xanthos was capital of ancient Lycia. Kick off your sandals on Turkey’s longest beach, Patara, and pass by the ancient ruins as you head back to the hotel for a sundowner.

Lycian coast

Why not spend your day at leisure sailing along the beautiful Turquoise coastline? You can hire a private boat to cruise the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean in search of sheltered coves and inviting beaches. Enjoy a new perspective on the region with the sight of the imposing Taurus Mountain range. Steer towards deserted beaches where you can weigh anchor and enjoy a leisurely swim followed by a grilled-squid lunch. Cruise back to the hotel for dinner and toast your time in Turkey with a glass of raki.

Dalaman – UK

Depart Dalaman and head for home or extend your stay and transfer to Fethiye, Bodrum or Istanbul.
