Highlights

Iconic South Africa to Mozambique

Visit South Africa’s Cape Town and the rural Winelands. Then fly to Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Cross over the border to Zambia and Victoria Falls before journeying to Mozambique’s coastline.

Get swept up in Cape Town’s cosmopolitan scene and sip superlative shiraz in the Winelands’s rolling vineyards. For prime predator viewing, there’s nowhere better than Botswana’s emerald Okavango Delta from where you can explore rich wildlife in a dugout canoe. Experience the awesome sight of Victoria Falls and its thundering sheets of water and unwind on Mozambique’s sun-drenched beaches lapped by azure waters.

Arrive Cape Town, South Africa

Touch down in Cape Town after your overnight flight, where you will be met by an A&K representative and driven to your hotel on the famed V&A Waterfront. In the afternoon, a guide will pick you up for a walking introduction of the city. First impressions are the most important, so it’s straight up to South Africa’s most famous landmark, Table Mountain. Gaze out from the flat-topped plateau as the sun melts over the city.

Winelands

Take the day to explore South Africa’s Winelands with a guide and vehicle at your disposal. The region is brimming with Cape Dutch manors, historical wineries and fine-dining restaurants. Enjoy a wine tasting in Stellenbosch and lunch among the endless vines. Your guide will be able to tailor your day according to your palate.

Cape Town

Spend the next couple of days exploring Cape Town at your leisure. We’ll give you our little black book full of the best beaches, lunch spots, historical gems and must-dos in the city. Make the most of the creative dining scene from eclectic brasseries to tasting-menu masterpieces. If you feel like unwinding, your resort is the perfect place to do this with standout facilities such as a 350sqm swimming pool and the award-winning Spa Island.

Cape Town – Okavango Delta, Botswana

Catch an early morning flight to the Okavango Delta, Africa’s premiere predator paradise. Touch down and you’ll be met and driven to your camp on the glassy seasonal floodwaters. After lunch, embark on your first game drive scanning for resident lion, plentiful in the region. This evening, you can dine under a canopy of stars.

Okavango Delta

Spend the next two days roaming the wild. Top-notch guides will help you expertly navigate the waterways in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). Not only is the Okavango Delta intensely beautiful with emerald floodplains and palm tree islands, but its surrounds are predator-rich. Paddling through the lily pads, you’ll often spot bee-eaters and kingfishers in the reeds. Elsewhere you may see crocodiles and hippos wallowing in the shallows. After cocktails around the boma, enjoy an elegant three-course dinner which may include grilled impala or fluffy soufflé with passion fruit mousse for dessert.

Okavango Delta – Livingstone, Zambia

This morning, catch a flight to Kasane where on arrival, you will be met and driven to your hotel on the banks of the Zambezi. Drop your bags and head straight out on the river boat from where you can sip on sundowners as the amber skies fade. Your home for the next couple of nights is a treehouse built into the ebony trees. For ultimate romance, why not dine on the private deck under the soft glow of candlelight with the sound of the bush all around.

Victoria Falls

No visit to Zambia is complete without a trip to Victoria Falls. Today you can explore this natural spectacle with insight from a private guide. Witness waterscape on an awesome scale in the most extraordinary ways possible. For the best views, head to the Devil’s Pool, where you can plunge into serene water on the brink of a cascade. In the afternoon, you have the option of visiting a local school or take a canoe out on the Zambezi River.

Victoria Falls – Johannesburg, South Africa

This morning, a driver will take you to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Transfer to your boutique hotel where you can relax in a garden setting or pamper yourself in the Balinese-style spa.

Johannesburg – Vilanculos, Mozambique

Catch a flight to the breezy town of Vilanculos. On arrival, a driver will take you 40 minutes north along the coast to your white-washed escape by the sea. After checking in, spend the rest of the afternoon unwinding on blinding white swathes of sand and dipping into aquamarine sea.

Vilanculos

Spend the next three days exploring this barefoot paradise that still feels unexplored. Wake up to wide shores and venture around the Bazaruto Archipelago, a pearl string of islands with virgin coral reef, perfect for snorkelling trips. One day you may head off-shore on a catamaran or sail in a traditional dhow – you can often spot dolphins porpoising in the crystal waters. When you’re ready for downtime, we can organise gourmet beach picnics and the freshest seafood feasts as you dine, toes dug in the sand.

Depart Vilanculos, Mozambique

After pure beach hedonism, it’s time to say goodbye to the coast. A driver will take you to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg and then it’s an overnight flight home.
