UK - Lima

We recommend you maximise the time available on your Peruvian adventure by flying overnight to Lima via Madrid.

Lima

On arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel where you can settle in and freshen up. When you're ready, experience Lima's up and coming Barranco neighbourhood. It's teeming with cute cafes and art galleries. The city has undergone a gastronomic revolution in recent years, so you can choose between Peruvian classics or innovative fusion food. Don't forget to sample the local cocktail, a pisco sour.

Lima - Reserva Amazonica

Begin your Amazon adventure flying to Puerto Maldonado, a once known rubber town surrounded by verdant rainforests. Hop on a boat on the rushing Madre de Dios river towards a land of riotous jungle colours and extraordinary wildlife. You’ll take a tour along high canopy walkways, hanging bridges and treetop platforms. Then return to your lantern-lit cabana to spend the night in your jungle hideaway.

Reserva Amazonica

Waking to a symphony of birdsong you’ll know you’re in the heart of the jungle. Explore the boardwalk over rainforest swamps and see the transition of the rainforest ecosystem to marshland. It’s top bird and reptile spotting territory. In the afternoon take a tranquil boat trip to Lake Sandoval, where you’ll have the chance to get up close and personal with giant otters, deadly piranhas and colourful parrots.

Reserva Amazonica - Sacred Valley

Leaving the rainforest behind, fly back across Peru to the former Inca capital of Cusco and discover the tranquil, grassy wonderland of the Sacred Valley. With its colourful and lively markets, charming flower-filled plains and some of the most impressive historic sites in the country, this Inca hotspot is sure to delight.

Urubamba

Explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Highlights include the colourful town of Chinchero and the impressive Inca fortress at Ollantaytambo. This magical landscape was the heart of the Inca empire that thrived here half a millennia ago. After fighting bravely against the Spanish invaders, they were eventually defeated, but they left behind the remnants of one of the world's great civilisations. Much of it remains in remarkable condition.

Urubamba - Machu Picchu

After a scenic train journey, arrive at the bustling town of Aguas Calientes. Step into another world as you explore the walkways and lookout points of Machu Picchu, the iconic Lost City of the Incas. Our guide will deliver a fascinating history lesson in the world's most unique classroom. Then you're free to explore this magical place, where llamas roam and masterfully cut stones form the stunning citadel.

Machu Picchu - Cusco

Wake up early morning to watch the sun glint over the misty citadel before the crowds arrive. Returning to Cusco by train, take in the picturesque villages and deep gorges flanking the track. And you'll be back in time for another delicious dinner. It's hard to tire of Peruvian cuisine, with its fresh ceviche and unique fusion dishes.

Cusco

Take a tour around Cusco's cobbled streets, with everything a civilised distance from the Plaza de Armas. When you’ve finished posing for photos under the imposing stone archways or relaxing in one of the city’s top-notch eateries, head out to the Inca site of Sacsayhuaman. This ancient site overlooks the city with its impressive giant stones, all cut and placed there by the ancient Incas more than 500 years ago.

Cusco - Lima

Your Inca adventure is over for now as you fly home today via Lima. But Peru is a country that has a way of drawing you back. With so much myth and mystery here we won’t be surprised if we see you back again.
