The Garden Route provides one of the world's most beautiful coastal drives. Hop in a car and enjoy the ever-changing scenery all the way to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of the world. Here you’ll stay at the Marine Hotel on Walker Bay and in season (June to November) you can sight whales directly from your window.
Stroll the spectacular cliff path that, though beautiful is also one of the planet’s most renowned whale-watching spots: many mothers swim with their calves incredibly close to the shore. We recommend taking a dip at one of the town's beautiful beaches, or following a mountain trail to explore South Africa’s classic flora and fauna.
Departing Hermanus, the Garden Route veers inland as you traverse mighty mountains and endless forests.
