Adventures in Costa Rica don’t come more active than this: you’ll be hurtling down white waters, zip lining through the rainforest canopy and surfing the wild waves. Your Costa Rican adventure starts amid the sights and sounds of nature at Bajos del Toro, where you’ll enjoy earthy luxury during your stay at Pacuare Lodge and experience some of the many outdoor activities available. You’ll learn about the Cabecar natives and their traditional customs in the Talamanca Mountains before taking the Sky Tram to the Arenal Reserve. There will be panoramic views of the Arenal volcano on a treetop adventure before you finish up your active holiday in Costa Rica with a private surf lesson.

UK - San Jose

Your Costa Rica adventure begins with a flight to San Jose. We’ll meet you at the airport and drive you to Finca Rosa Blanca for your first night in the country.

Bajos del Toro waterfall - Oxcart - Sarchi Town

Explore the nature and sights of Bajos del Toro against the backdrop of a volcanic mountain range. This largely unspoilt area, located in the Central Highlands, is the perfect place to indulge your passions if you love bird watching or hiking. Wander through Sarchi, taking the time to enjoy the artistic work of the local artisans.

San Jose - Pacuare

Set your alarm clock today - it’s an early start as we take you from Finca Rosa Blanca to Pacuare Lodge. Tucked away deep in the heart of the rainforest, you’ll need to spend half a day rafting down the picturesque Pacuare River to reach the lodge. It’s well worth the effort. Pacuare Lodge offers you the best of both worlds: - a relaxing private eco retreat and the chance to immerse yourself in an array of outdoor activities.

Cabecar Indigenous Hike

Grab your hiking boots for an energetic walk to meet the Cabecar natives, the largest indigenous group in Costa Rica. The walk in the Talamanca Mountains can be challenging because of the difficult conditions of the trails but it’s a great opportunity to experience the forest and learn about the Cabecar’s traditional customs and beliefs.

Pacuare - Arenal

There’s no rest for the wicked today and it’s back on the water again with the rafts for your journey back to civilisation. We’ll meet you at the other end to take you to Arenal. With its plethora of outdoor activities, it’s a great place to cross off some of the things on your Costa Rica adventure to do list.

Sky Trek & Sky Tram Arenal

Today really is a day for appreciating the best of Costa Rica’s beautiful vistas. After breakfast, take the Sky Tram 660ft up to the top of the Arenal reserve. Once there, you’ll go even higher and enjoy panoramic views of the Arenal volcano on an adrenaline-filled treetop tour. On the zip lines you’ll experience an exhilarating way to experience the natural beauty of the area.

Arenal National Park - Tabacon Hot Springs

You’ll probably still be buzzing from your exciting treetop tour so take a few hours to relax in the morning before trekking along the base of the Arenal Volcano and taking in the magnificent views. Visit the volcanic thermal mineral pools at the Tabacon Hot Springs where you can wash away any lingering aches and pains from your hikes with a relaxing and healthy soak.

Arenal - Manuel Antonio

Our team will drive you from Arenal to Manuel Antonio, widely considered to be Costa Rica’s most beautiful park. The tropical rainforest here is bursting with wildlife and the perfect spot to take some memorable holiday photos. Catch sight of the many monkeys and iguanas who roam through the park before walking barefoot across the white sand beaches and enjoying a leisurely swim.

Arenas del Mar

Recharge your batteries with a day to do exactly what you want. Visit the beach, experience the local wildlife or simply relax with a glass of something cold and a good book.

Private Mangrove - Damas Island Kayaking

Today, we’ll take you on a private tour of the mangroves: keep your eyes wide open so you can spot the innumerable bird species, snake, anteater and white faced monkey. Travelling through natural canals, your private tour also provides an ideal opportunity to observe heron, kingfisher, osprey, frigot and other migratory bird.

Private surf lesson Manuel Antonio Beach

Whether you’re a total surfing novice or quietly confident you can stand up on the board and ride a wave, you’ll have the chance to pick up some great hints and tips during your private surf lesson. Surfing can be hard work so why not take a chance to sit back and soak up some sunshine once you’ve finished.

Manuel Antonio - UK

Sadly it’s time to say goodbye to Costa Rica and head home. We’ll pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Juan Santamaria Airport, giving you one final chance to admire the scenery along the way. Your holiday may be over but you’ll leave with lasting memories of volcanic vistas, exhilarating treetop walks and a newfound appreciation for the culture of Costa Rica’s Cabecars.
