I'd like to give something back
A shipping container full of second-hand bicycles, sent by AKP, has changed the lives of five women and their families in Kasane, Botswana. Upon arrival, the shipping container was transformed into a bike shop and has gone on to become a vital part of local life, providing people with a reliable income and sustainable transport in rural areas. Enjoy a visit to learn about the workshop’s innovative beginnings and watch the repairwomen doing what they do best.
Following the success of our AKP Safe Water for Schools initiative in Kenya, we have expanded this project to Tanzania and secured water filters for schools in Arusha, Tarangire and Ngorongoro. To date, more than 10,000 students and teachers have benefitted from these filters. Discover the effects of this project for yourself with a visit to a Tanzanian school and enjoy a warm welcome from local children, and learn how the filters have changed lives and prospects.
